Final Artist Statement #2

At first I had a hard time getting the hang of Blender, which put a damper on most of my more intricate ideas. But after a little scrolling on TikTok after taking a few year break from it, I realized the most successful filters are NOT the most detailed and intricate ones. On an app based around short form content, what works the best is a short form filter. This mindset really influenced what I ended up making.

First, I made a fuzzy green caterpillar mustache that wiggles around on your lip (like every mustache should). I wanted something quick and easy that anyone could use if they wanted a little 'somethin' to enhance their dancing or 'unboxing' TikToks. Then, I made a fish that flopps on your head and interrupts you by screaming for air when you open your mouth to speak. I saw this as a cheeky way to mock the more absurd and dumber TikTok filters that (for whatever reason) people dont see anything wrong with. Finally, I made three happy dancing men that float around your head. I also added the EffectHouse crying face effect, to make it seem as if they are laughing at you, at your lowest point.
